I figured out that I would start to post the interesting cars that I encounter walking around Oslo. The photos are taken with my crappy phone, but it will have to do. After all, it's the content that is the interesting part here!

Today's car is a 1972 VW Type 2, a car that is currently ending its long life in Brazil, but is a rare sight in a country where rust is a car's worst enemy. Most of these were commercial vans back in the day, but this one seems to be a well maintained example. Probably because this one is fitted with an interior instead of hammers and spanners in the rear. The curtains make sure that you can't see what happens inside. It's obviously just !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! stuff anyway.

I'm no good at these cars, and I haven't seen/heard it running, so to figure out any engine configuration is impossible for me. I'm pretty sure it runs and is driven daily though (cool points for doing that in a "big" city), because it has been standing on different spots every day now.

The sight of this yellow loaf really brighten up the otherwise gray traffic. I wonder if that is the original colour. I can tell from the licenseplate that this was bought new in Norway, and if it has been around Oslo for 41 years without restoration I'm very impressed. I hope I won't see it in the winter, because that does mayhem with cars here..

EDIT: A bit of research reveales that it is registered as a green car, which probably means that it has been restored at some point in its life.

OFF TOPIC: If the weather is nice, I'll do a photoshoot with my Volvo 142 this weekend.
